Course Description
This course is a dedicated training in the Ayurvedic massage practice known as Abhyanga. Abhyanga involves a massage of the entire body with a constitution (dosha) specific, or ailment related, warm herb-infused oil. This practice is intended to open up the channels and vessels of the body, remove toxins, and cleanse and moisturize the skin. You will be trained in the sequence used by Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MASc, founder and director of The Ayurvedic Institute - used in the Panchakarma Program at the Institute. Practical Skills Development: This course is designed to educate you on the theory and practice of Ayurvedic body work. The course will have a lecture and lab component - divided by sections of the body. The course also includes an introduction to Ayurveda and Marma Point Therapy as systems of health and wellness. Please note, this 5-day training and instruction will be in-person at our school premises in Albuquerque, New Mexico - no online option is available for this course, unfortunately.
