Course Description

Pressure is one of the most common sources of client dissatisfaction in massage therapy but what do clients actually mean when they request light, medium, firm, or deep pressure? Drawing from eight years of consumer pressure-preference data, The Pressure Gap teaches therapists to consistently deliver the pressure levels clients request most often. Participants receive hands-on practice using Standard Touch pressure-simulation trainers, allowing them to apply, adjust, and verify their pressure with measurable feedback. Therapists leave with greater confidence, improved pressure consistency, and practical insight into providing safer, more responsive massage experiences that better align with client expectations. - 4 CE Hours - Sarah Komala, LMT | Educator, Researcher and Patent Inventor Sarah Komala has spent nearly two decades at the intersection of hands-on practice, education, and innovation; turning the challenges massage therapists encounter every day into practical methods they can confidently use. A licensed massage therapist since 2007 and an NCBTMB Approved Continuing Education Provider, Sarah has owned and operated a multidisciplinary massage clinic, trained and mentored working therapists, developed continuing education programs, and taught the next generation of massage professionals. Sarah is the founder of Mendology, Inc. and the inventor of a patented method that makes human-applied pressure measurable, teachable, and repeatable. Her work is informed by more than eight years of consumer research examining massage-pressure preferences and the persistent gap between what clients request and therapists deliver. Developed by a massage therapist for massage therapists, Sarah’s courses bring together research, real-world experience, and immediately applicable instruction, helping therapists work with greater clarity, consistency, and confidence while creating better experiences for the clients they serve.
